You must have a high school diploma.
To become a cosmetology instructor, you must have your cosmetology license, 1 year of experience, and 160 training hours.
You must renew your cosmetology license yearly by December 31st. There is a $15 fee.
To practice in North Dakota if you're from another state, you must have a letter from your current state's board, plus a copy of your state's licensing requirements. You must also take the North Dakota Laws, Rules, and Regulations exam.
Instructors must complete 8 board-approved CEUs yearly.
