State of Rhode Island, Barbering Certification Requirements
You must be 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. You must be a U.S. citizen or have legal entry status. You must have 'good moral character'.
To become a cosmetology instructor, you must have your cosmetology license for at least 3 years, 300 hours of teacher training, and passed the exams.
Your cosmetology license must be renewed every 2 years by September 30th. There is a $67 fee.
To practice in Rhode Island if you're from another state requires you to have gotten your license from a state with the same or greater licensing requirements, which may include work experience. You'll also need to pass the licensing exam.
There are no CEUs required.
