You must be at least 18 years old with a high school education. And you must be of good moral character.
To become a cosmetology instructor, you must have your cosmetology license, 5 years of recent salon experience, interview, and pass the exam.
Your license needs to be renewed every year. There is a $35 fee.
To practice in West Virginia from another state: if your license is in a NIC state, you'll need to pass the state law exam. If you're licensed in a non-NIC state, then you'll need to submit an application for review.
You need to complete 4 CEUs annually.
