State of North Dakota, Makeup Artistry Certification Requirements

You must have a high school diploma.

To become a cosmetology instructor, you must have your cosmetology license, 1 year of experience, and 160 training hours.

You must renew your cosmetology license yearly by December 31st. There is a $15 fee.

To practice in North Dakota if you're from another state, you must have a letter from your current state's board, plus a copy of your state's licensing requirements. You must also take the North Dakota Laws, Rules, and Regulations exam.

Instructors must complete 8 board-approved CEUs yearly.

Educational requirements for North Dakota:

Cosmetology – 1800 hours
Barber – 1550 hours
Electrologist – 600 hours
Esthetics – 600 hours
Manicurist – 350 hours
