State of Illinois, Nail Care Certification Requirements
You must be 18 years old and have your high school diploma or equivalent.
To be eligible to be an instructor, you must have your cosmetology license plus 1000 hours of training. Or, you must have 2 years of experience plus 500 hours of training.
Your license must be renewed by September 30th of every odd-numbered year. There is a $25 fee.
If you want to practice in Illinois from another state, you must submit an application for licensure by endorsement. You must provide certification of your license from your current state board.
Cosmetologists need 14 CEUs every 2 years. Instructors need 24 CEUs every 2 years.
