The objective of the Cosmetology program is to teach future salon professionals the fundamentals of cutting, styling, permanent waving, hair coloring, manicuring, skin care, and makeup. This course prepares graduates to pass the State Board exam, become a licensed Cosmetologist, and begin working in the Salon & Spa industry. Upon satisfactory completion of the Cosmetology program, the graduate will receive a Diploma.
The objective of the Barbering program is to teach future Barbers the fundamentals of cutting, styling, hair coloring, shaving, skin care, nails, budgeting, inventory management, and safety judgements. This course prepares graduates to pass the State Board exam, become a licensed Barber and begin working in the industry. Upon satisfactory completion of the Barbering program, the graduate will receive a Diploma.
The State of Georgia requires 1500 clock hours for graduation and testing in Barbering. During the first 280 hours, the student will be in the Core phase of the program. Upon completion of 280 hours, and provided that the student has submitted all assigned work as well as maintained all grade and attendance levels, the student will transition to the Advanced portion of the program and be permitted to practice on guests on the barbering floor.
Health and Style Institute is a licensed to operate as a Cosmetology School by the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners and the Georgia Board of Cosmetology and Barbers. Authorization by the State of Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission has been granted for the Makeup Artistry program. Health and Style Institute is nationally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences, Inc. (NACCAS) and approved to participate with the U.S. Department of Education’s Title IV funding programs.
