State of Florida, Hair Styling Certification Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old and have your high school diploma or GED.
To become an instructor, you must attend a school that offers a certification program.
License renewal is by October 31. Group 1 licenses renew on even-numbered years, and Group 2 license holders renew on odd-numbered years. There is a $55 fee.
To practice in Florida if you're coming in from another state, you must have a valid license from a state with equal requirements. Otherwise, you must complete additional training hours in order to qualify.
There are 16 CEUs required for license renewal.
