State of Montana, Hair Styling Certification Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
To become a cosmetology instructor, you must have your cosmetology license, 650 hours of training, and 1 year of work experience.
You must renew your cosmetology license by March 1st, every 2 years. There is an $80 fee.
If you want to practice in Montana and your from another state, you must have a license from a state with equal or great licensing requirements. More training hours may be required, plus taking the national exams.
Cosmetologist must have 30 CEUs every 2 years.
Instructors must have 60 CEUs every 2 years.
