State of Ohio, Hair Styling Certification Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old with a 10th grade education.
To become a cosmetology instructor, you must have a managing cosmetology license, 1000 hours of training, or 1 year of salon experience.
You must renew your license by January 31 of every odd-numbered year. There is a $45 fee.
There is no reciprocity so you'll need to take and pass Ohio's state board exams.
You must complete 8 board-approved CEUs every 2 years.
